Jan 1998 was the best year so far, with 199 recorded species. This year produced 189. 182 species was seen both years.
In total 241 species have been seen in Januari in Sweden. 1 new for January this year; Bimaculated Lark, Melanocorypha bimaculata.

No. 4 for Sweden (the other ones; Haparanda Sandskär (Norrbotten) 1982, and Gotland twice; 1983 and 1996). The first for Södermanland.
The major event in January. Arrived myself 31.1 at 7 in the morning after a snowy drive 550 km from Lund, the well organised Club 300 gave you numbered parking tickets, we came as car No 47 (I heard about up to 92 cars that day). Took 2 hours to get on one of the 3 fishing boats shipping 300 birders or so over to the island Landsort. The Lark was together with other passerines at a house with a bird feeder. Seem to be doing well, still there after 2 weeks.
