The major event was the Long-tailed Shrike, Lanius schach (rostgumpad törnskata) seen only one day at Stora Karlsö, Gotland 11.6. If this record will be accepted by the Swedish rarities committee as this species, and a category A-C bird, it will be a new species for Sweden, and the 4th for Western Palearctic.

1 ad as usual at Halmstad harbour (Halland) (since several summers).
But a 2y Svartåmynningen, Linköping (Östergötland) 19-20.5 is only record 10 for Sweden.

The population in Scania, partly breeding, seems to have increased a little, there are now at least 6 singing males in 3 spots in Scania.

A very unexpected species. An escape ?
The species is mainly resident (from Nepal and eastwards in Asia), but the westernmost population, race erythronotus, is a short distance migrant, in the mountains of Kazakhstan and Tadzhikistan for example. The closest population is in Turkmeniya. It is extinct in Iran (BWP 7, p. 478-ff).
