Rare birds in Sweden November 2002


There is almost an invasion of Blyth's Pipit (Anthus godlewski) in Sweden !

Yesterday the 3rd bird this autumn was found in Västergötland, still there today.
At Brudarebacken, Delsjöterrängen, Västergötland (West Sweden)

Last week there was one for several days at Obbola, south of Umeå, Västerbotten (North Sweden).

And then the first one this autumn, at Falsterbo, Scania (SW Sweden) 15 October. Stayed 1 week.

If these records will all be accepted they are records 2,3 and 4 for Sweden.


OTHER RARITIES;

Azure Tit, Parus cyanus.
Masugnsbyn, Lapland. Been there for 2 weeks, still there today.
Fourth Swedish record.

Desert Warbler, Sylvia (nana) nana (the eastern ssp/sp).
1 ringed at Ottenby, Öland 9 Nov.

INVASION SPECIES;

Pine Grosbeak, Pinicola enucleator
Several flocks in the middle of Sweden (Uppland, Närke, Värmland) today.

Two-barred Crossbill, Loxia leucoptera
Several flocks in the middle and south of Sweden today.
